I have a CF696? The new gravel one they do. Love the frame, paint is good, I went for purple/blue flick paint you featured.
It survived badlands and plenty of other rough stuff while loaded up.
Only issue was the fork cake bosses came loose when using everything cages. Also happed on my friend’s bombtrack for so…
They are willing to replace the fork for me, but only if I send proof I destroyed the current one. So I’d be months without a fork. Also, I got Dynamo routing in the fork but couldn’t fit charger and light cable through the hole. Sure there are solutions to that.

Also, with 28s on it rides pretty good as a road bike. Pretty convincing all rounder in my opinion.

white industries cranks look like utter shite
absalute madness people are speccing their "dream bikes" with them, nothing says "let the bikeperson have a look over my wallet" more
i get it, nearly all shimano cranks look like ass, so do sram and campag, they all look like deformed metal we're forced to attach to our bikes
but solving that by putting on a bad looking octolink crank doesn't step things up
i guess you could get a middleburns, they're all right, even hopes have some charm
my personal favourite is a ugly hollow tech deore and a 1x ring from a decade ago, but i understand if you're building your dream bike and getting photos taken in front of industrial walls, leaning it against your oak record table it might not be your vibe
but i beg you people, just look on ebay for an hour or two and buy some old campags or square taper xts
dont get those wank industries
edit:
the chainring is fucking vile
and proprietry
ass, all of it

Nah most modern road Shimano HTII chainsets look wicked but your average insta-gravel bro needs a 32 x50 lowest gear to get their bar bag round Epping Forest

I quite like my Shimano SLX chainset.

It's not as pretty as my Campag Croce D'Aune chainset was...

Wtf are those chainstays doing and, more importantly, how do we make them die?

What do you think about Trek 920 as do-it-all bike for road/gravel riding, bikepacking/touring, ultra racing and towing a kid trailer?
I currently have Equilibrium 931, like it but I am limited to mostly road riding and road hearing is limiting for any kind of touring (I imagine it will be even worse when my child grows up to the trailer and I tow extra 30 kg in the back), while SRAM 2x10 with 42/28 crankset seems a perfect for both on and off road in my opinion. I thought first about adding a proper rigid MTB to Genesis, but everything is so scarce these days and I could probably swap Equilibrium for Trek with hardly any extra expenses. Plus I heard it can even clear 27.5x2.8 with fenders for some plus cushness. -

Such a wild cross check. I did the mods on the frame looooong time ago. Wonder where it is today
