Hi all, is someone able to clarify, are the 'Slice Ultra' forks better than the 'Slice Prodigy'? Some info online seems to suggest it's the other way round, but the Ultra fork appears to be on much newer, fairly high spec models, so I would assume therefore it's better? (Understand newer doesn't always mean better) Cheers

prodigy is likely earlier, but don't know much about those (i only dug deep for info on the carbon steerer models). afaik, the si was also made by time, so they either made all cannondale forks or just the top of the range models

Please make a singlespeed out of it with one of those silly bb30 eccentric bb’s. I have been looking for a caad disc for ages with the intention.

If it took mudguards I'd do that as an ideal commuter but it doesn't and I have a Caad10 track so not sure where it would fit in as single speed

Hey, thanks for reply. Would I be correct in the grading of these three forks then, top worst then better as you go down? Thanks

ffs the fetishization of integrated cable routing in road cycling has gone too far. no mechanic with a sound mind would suggest that bending mechanical cables like that is a good idea. the shifting must go to shit after a few months

Has anyone owned a CAAD frame and then gone to an Optimo, is there a stark difference in feel/performance? Thanks

I blame anyone who's ever used the words "clean lines"

Well, it’s the fetishisation of electronic cables and hydraulic lines that has caused the problem. Those who prefer mechanical, or can’t afford di2, are left to suffer the consequences. I guess someone at Big Bike read Nudge.
It’s a temporary problem. New bikes will be free of mechanical cables soon enough, introducing the servicing model from the automotive world. Cycling is becoming more and more like car ownership.

those super 6 evos run fine with non-integrated cable routing... no one is forcing people to fit mechanical cables into integrated bars etc.
or people just need to buy a giant tcr and be done with it. i do broadly agree with your point though. it is ridiculous and something i have ranted about elsewhere on the forum before

Posting here so I don't buy it. I've been looking for this frame for years but the times just not right for me. 1st dibs on it though please

Nice. Do you really want it?
-
• #14821
Surely any reader of this thread would want that in their size.

• #14822
I don't have the space, money or need but otherwise yes
Also the fork might be fucked and there's only one picture so it's a bit of a gamble. The price is ok but not exactly a bargain -
• #14823
It’s a classic. My equivalent of that would prob be the blue caad7 optimo in 54.

Love the DC sticker
(Otherwise great bike)
That 9/11 above is tempting 😐🤔😶
There’s a kit you can buy to run full internal mechanical here:
