Beats me. WoS salesperson I spoke to last week reckoned the empty display cabinets were down to people buying what they were told to, in order to gain access to a sports model. Secondary market prices though - I can only assume it's people (China?) having decided that any Rolex is an investment. So glad I got mine when I did, I wouldn't want to get involved in the current circus.
What +umop3pisdn said.
But also wearing, for sure. Searching / thinking about buying is stressful, it's an argument with yourself. And then once you buy it you're reminding yourself what a stupid thing it is to spend money on.
Fortunately after a while you forget that and just enjoy the thing. Especially when it has a connection that reminds you of something/someone. (Also, when C24 tells you it's gone up in value by 40% in two years, thanks thirsty Rolex buyers.)
