^ I wont listen to this advice

Illegal and can land you in hot water with the law if you cause an accident riding brakeless.
Rarely enforced, but it’s not 2007 now so why would you? Brakes are cheap and effective. -
• #7
Enforcement is most common after that nasty thing that was never going to happen... happens, at which point either:
- the person you fucked-up uses the fact to make things worse for you
- the person who fucked you up uses the fact to make things worse for you
Basically a win / win
- the person you fucked-up uses the fact to make things worse for you

It's not brakeless if you're riding fixed, just not enough brakes
-

never got along well with brakes for some reason. just less hassle and less maintenance. started going to the track and it's one less thing to have.
i'm not a person that goes speeding through town, i go at reasonably slow speeds unless im training.
but yeah thanks for the info. will get a front break then .

Brakes are famously hard to maintain, suprised they caught on tbh
-
• #11
yeah , i just obsess over every little noise or anything. just really annoying to me.

this happened a few years ago, https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2017/sep/18/cyclist-charlie-alliston-jailed-for-18-months-over-death-of-pedestrian
-
• #13
Wait til you hear about Dick breaks
-
• #14
wait what? wow . guess im going to have to learn how to set up brakes.
-
• #15
you can still ride like an asshole if you have brakes. just saying. ....
-
• #16
If you’re riding brakeless you’re already an asshole.
-
• #17
brakes are important because it's another thing you can buy; therefore obsess over on your bike, why would anyone pass this up?
-
• #18
This is the only bike that should be brakeless

naaaaah I disagree. i dont ride like an asshole. i respect pedestrians , cars everything. just dont go blasting fast in places where you cant.
-
• #20
it really do be like that sometimes.
-
• #21
been there bro. not fun
-
• #22
Since you can't stop as quickly, ever, in an emergency with only your pedal brake you will never reduce cycling risk to the degree you can with a hand brake and your pedal brake
Ride fixed with a front wheel brake and pedal brake. Use front brake in emergencies

This thread proves one sad thing - no one's riding as an asshole anymore -(
-

They are they just aren't posting on here
