• Definitely no gravel in Lanzarote.

  • Trying to figure out where you are there. Heading south back towards red mountain? Or am I totally out?

I've done a lot of riding there over the years. Hired a road bike once, was bored shitless... so have gone offroad every time since. Much more fun. Especially fat bikes.

I'm heading out again this April for two weeks, was considering taking my gravel bike instead of XC bike.

Edit.. basically don't crash. That's the lanzarote rule. If you do, it's going to be messy!

I quite liked it for road riding. But I lived there for about 6 months, thats was well enough to ride all the roads in the island...twice.

I was thinking of going back for a week next year, maybe it would make a lot of sense to bring my gravel bike instead.

Heading out north of Teguise in that photo, to the west of Los Valles. Up Calle Dulcinea in Teguise and keep going.

Yep, learning that. It was strange, I've never actually been blown off a bike before. I suppose they really did mean it with those weather warnings.
