  • Trying to apply for jobs and having to click through about 5 recruitment websites before you actually get to the place where you can apply, as each listing is just lifted from another recruitment site. Also having to blag it to even get a foot in the door.

  • I applied for a job properly for the first time in years the other day, last few have all been sorted out over a beer. Got myself a not silly email address, made a CV, got an interview lined up from that, they want me to do a 5-10 minute presentation in that. Presentations aren't exactly part of my skill set, or generally needed as a workshop manager type person, but I'll have a bash anyway, I'm thinking rap or interpretive dance is the way to go.

  • I think the thing I’m starting to realise is that a lot of these processes are based around trying to see if you’re a div or not, as actual skills are either evidenced on paper, or demonstrated in practise.
Annoying as fuck tho, as usually they’re only really taken into consideration if there’s nothing else to separate candidates - and usually there is (candidate one has more relevant experience than candidate two etc).

  • Station South? Good luck if so, that'd be an ace gig.

    Good luck either way.
