If you are near Marleybone and like eastern Mediterranean dishes , Delamina are fantastic!
Spent a very pleasant lunchtime in there. Their Taboulleh-style salad is a work of art.

Delamina is great. I've only been to the Spitalfields one and would happily go back anytime. God damn, their cauliflower is good!
Oklava looks great, going to try and go next week.
Rochelle Canteen is superb as well. Best to wait until the warmer weather when the doors are open onto the lawn, such a nice space.

Ohh yeah and the Delamina meal kits are banging too. On Dishpatch if (like me) getting out to a real restaurant is something of a rarity these days

That cauliflower does look great, thanks! On my to-do list when next in the area :-)

I don’t mind sitting in the little outdoor enclosure they’ve built bc it’s nice and baby friendly (as are the changing rooms).
Has anyone been to Cafe Cecilia? I really want to but keep forgetting

Tried booking for Cafe Cecilia over Christmas, no joy. Hope to in summer though...

I’m after somewhere for dinner next Tuesday with a good friend I’ve not seen in a while, ideally south east. One of us is veggie, so would be good if that’s not an afterthought.
Thanks

Anyone been here? https://www.macellaiorc.com/menu-soho

Walked past it about an hour ago on my way to buying lunch* - looks... meaty. Did it used to be something else? Can't say I noticed it before despite walking past there many times. The strap line "Theatre of meat" was a bit odd. No idea about the food admittedly.
*Since it's a food recommendation thread, went for the dependable Jerusalem falafel on Berwick st market - quality bit of falafel wrap and one of the best value meals you'll find in the area along with the Thai stall at the top of Rupert st, just south of Walkers ct. Closed at the moment but they always seem to head back home to Thailand from December to the end of Jan/mid Feb. Can't wait for them to be back!

I went to the Exmouth Market branch. It was decent steak but somewhat investment banker pricing and ambience.
I won't be rushing back.

Thanks both. Sounds like I needn’t be rushing there.

I put this on the food thread but then thought maybe there’s a restaurant thread.
Looking for recommendations for a good Carribean restaurant, plan is a lazy lunch then a few nice rums after.
Ma Petite Jamaica is our go to, Antillean is on the radar.
Suggestions appreciated.

Wanna try this place https://ayannaslondon.com/ dunno if it's open for lunch tho. Guess you could also stroll down to cottons if you're in Camden.
-
• #1315
Thanks for that.
Yeah, the problem is no one is open for lunch at the moment as there’s not enough trade due to WFH. Antillian said they’re going to review at the end of the month.

There was a good one in Dalston, Rudies, but I think that’s gone now.
You’re E10 right? Check out Crave on Lea Bridge Road. I only ever get Jerk Chicken or Curry Goat but it’s so, so good. Friend of a friend came over from Jamaica for a long trip and once they found that place she said it was the most authentic and ended up going every day when she got homesick 😆

Thanks, I’ll give that a try, sounds awesome. But looking for somewhere central / West End / City for early March

Went to Rocksalt in Folkstone on Friday night.
Really great food and service. Have always enjoyed my trips there, but it seems to have gotten better.
Worth the trip out of town.

Has anyone got any suggestions for anything exciting in Birmingham?
I'm surprising my wife with Opheem tasting menu on her birthday on a Friday evening, then we're staying overnight and having lunch the next day with her sisters and I'm trying to book somewhere to go. I'm half tempted to go for a "proper" curry the day after as a little experiment in very posh then not posh at all curry, but just interested to hear if anyone knows anything worth trying.
Wife doesn't eat meat but does eat fish.

Merry maid pub if you really really want not posh vibes also akrams in stirchley is good. Everything's going to be lame after Opheem, I would vote for blue nile for something different the day after, good balance of price and tasty.

Stopped in cottons for drinks on the way to abstract orchestra this week. Thought the service was great👌

Went to Rocksalt in Folkstone on Friday night.
I'm currently about 100m from it.
When you're here, do try Annapurna for Nepalese food. So good.

Diwan in Balsall Heath would be my shout for a curry. I’ve eaten at most of the balti triangle places over the years and this is better than any of them.
Cheers; we're still looking at one nice dinner a month around east. OH has picked Ombra for tomorrow night.
Will check out Rochelle as well
