Fisher and Paykel is a kiwi company stuff is all designed and manufactured in NZ plus they pay their staff well.
In Aus and NZ their stuff is not too expensive (but still a premium brand) so I imagine that when the government signs a trade deal with NZ that is shit for us and great for them because Brexit the price will come down.
They do last, I have one of their fridges and its great. The customer service is awesome when I need spare water filters etc but it is a little odd phoning a UK # and being put through to a nightshift worker that sounds like an extra from once we're warriors.
Can't fit a bike frame in that (other large items may apply)
There seems to be a weird premium for kitchen goods with individual draws over doors to a single large compartment at the moment. I await the draw based washing machine.
