Love a cold ride. Very slow to avoid binning it though.

I like it when people post on this thread. Reminds me of the beforeTimes ™

Second that.
The main thing I really miss now I'm wfh is the riding part of my old commute. Lots of fun, anger and silliness. Always arrived at work with a spring in my step. -

Very tactile, that pic

Glad it captures it a bit. Hard to convey just how nice and crisp it all was.

agreed. my usual commute route had a lovely bit along a canal and I enjoyed exchanging a cheery 'good morning' with the regular dog walkers and that.
hopefully back to that again soon a couple of days a week at least.
WFH deffo has its pros and cons. -

To the person who told me off for rolling through a pedestrian light red at the Lexington , sorry, but I really don’t like that junction.

Statement of the blindingly obvious, but fuck me was that cold this morning.
-

I'm usually very good with obeying road laws. I tut loudly when someone blows a red etc
But I'm commuting 45km a day now and am I fuck stopping and waiting at deserted pedestrian crossings -

Cold, but pretty going through Hackney Wick and Victoria Park.

Lush sunrise over the river this morning making the trail of smoke from Battersea power station chimney a pastel pink against an orange sky. Should have got a picture

^ How is there smoke coming from Battersea power station chimney? Isn't it all expensive apartments now?
-
• #29790
Giant smoke machine marketed as Authenticity to its potential occupants.
-

I guess it's just from the colossal central heating system they must have in place. It's only ever the one chimney. It's probably steam more than smoke but you know what I mean
-
• #29792
Yep, I think it has some sort of biomass boiler system there. They kept one of the chimneys functional for it.
-
• #29794
Ah, gas powered. Oh well...

I commuted into Victoria on the train for many, many years and watched the development slowly happen. Watching them remove the chimneys brick by brick was pretty impressive, and then watch them be rebuilt exactly the same was crazy. Every day I used to look and wonder how many millions it cost to do something that will go completely unnoticed in the long run.

It is, but this is definitely the best part of it. The bit going past Kenilworth road, less so.

8 and a half million for a three bed flat? Hahahahahahaha
-3°C this morning! Not quite in full winter gear yet - I wasn't on my fixed gear bike.
