If you really want to do something about it, it would be a price negotiation with the owner based on 'I didn't realise what a fucking piss take the neighbours porch was'
Presumably in the initial offer though since it is very obvious.

Could make a bingo card for those accounts, no different to back when magazines were the sole source of inspiration for people.

What can you say about people who arrange their books by colour?
-
• #50655
Wrong ends for me. I recently went running that way and thought "i'd like to live round here" then saw the prices.

They use visual cues to remember where their books are?

Aren't IKEA dishwashers not a standard size so you are a bit stuffed needing some sort of compromise if you don't want another IKEA one?
Nah, normal size. 60cm or 45 wide
only faff is the sliding door fitting but they have a kit that I've used a couple of timeshttps://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/behjaelplig-sliding-hinge-fully-int-dishwasher-60492349/

Yeah. I think it's defensible though, depending on where you are in the process. You pick up on different things at different times. Survey should pick it up though, right? Or are they that useless...
If it's weeks since survey and everything is rolling along nicely then it's probably not the best thing to try. But if it's early days I would do it had because it will cause me problems down the line. And if it really bothered me I'd sack it off.
Personally it would make me want to smash, but I'm looking at it without the wider context.

From what I can see it's unlikely to have got planning permission (it wouldn't qualify for permitted development as it's within 2m of your property). I would say that the lack of flashing between the roof tiles on the porch and the wall it's leaning onto is a strong indicator that the work has not been signed off by building control.
As others have said it's not worth mentioning though.

dishwasher chat:
@duncs thanks
@jellybaby they're completely unwashed after a full on "kill at hot temperature" wash.
It's fucked. -

does neighbour's house not end at the pink line or does the party wall bisect the chimney ? either way not worth getting het up about imo and doubt anyone would lowball you in future based on this, given how ravenous property markets are (and will inevitably remain)

@frankohara
this "And if it really bothered me I'd sack it off"
Looks like they have a side window in it so every time you use your front door you'll be looking in to their porch.
If this is going on at the front of the house what horrors lurk at the back...?
Trampolines, barkings dogs , plastic gazebos, summer parties (bah humbug)
Walk away Michael Jackson moonwalk style... -

I wouldn’t worry about the porch. 95% chance a gentrifier will move in within 5 years and take it down as part of an aspirational renovation.

Have you thought about getting an east end thug around to have a look? Should work on dishwashers too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAGlUUAmjxk

Interested in views on this as well, debating a nearly top end Bosch vs. the cheapest integrated Miele out there...
-
• #50670
Bosch SMV6ZCX01G - 949
Miele G5260 SC - 905
both score the same -

Miele Pfffft. The last couple of high end kitchens I've fitted have one thing in common. Fisher and Paykel dish drawers they go nicely with a bottles of Aesop soap and hand cream.

Is there some weird horror show just out of shot where the porch meets the bay?

was wondering this myself

Those F&P things look weird... + ££££?!
I was already pushing it to Miele, based almost solely on them feeling more robust when I looked at them in Curry's
Blimey. My dishwasher is over 12. It has had a new element but yours sounds really shit. Aren't IKEA dishwashers not a standard size so you are a bit stuffed needing some sort of compromise if you don't want another IKEA one?
When mine does that I fill up the rinse aid.
