She seems to have that style down pat, but does she draw anything else, too? It's worth branching out, even if she eventually just wants to draw things like this. Her style is very dynamic, she's very good at drawing figures (even if the one at the bottom is a little anatomically questionable in the legs :) ), and she could clearly do drawing professionally if she wanted to and kept working at it. For that, she would need to master more techniques and styles, though. I always enjoy it when you post these, keep them coming.

Great stuff her choice of colours and composition are just great.

Thanks all. She is still only 10 ;) - she does art club after school once a week where she is pushed to do different styles, and next year she will go to secondary school where art is a dedicated lesson, so at the moment I just let her do what she enjoys. I am amazed with her skill on the PC though, she can draw just as well on that than with pencil or paper.

Awesome talent for 10.

Testing some colours and colour combinations. The leaf was an "mandatory" exercise in painting lessons; not the most thrilling subject...

A mandatory evil well executed, as whoever made it mandatory should be...

Daughter's sketch from school of her best friend. I went to her Art Club end of term exhibition, she had done a fantastic pop art mushroom, it hasn't made its way back home yet sadly

First time in aaaaages that I’ve used actual paint that exists in real life!
Bought a blank deck recently and was just going to skate it as is, but I’ve got my youngest off pre-school ill today and she wanted to do some painting so I got the brushes out for me too.

Did you sand it before you painted on it? What kind of paint you use? Acrylic paint or somerhing more specific? Got a blank deck myself but not sure what to do with it.
Thanks.

Yeah I gave it a quick rub down so there was something for the paint (and then the lacquer) to adhere to. I was going to use acrylic but I got them all down from the loft and they’re all solidified! The only thing other than kids poster paint was some water based block painting ink. It’s pretty pigmenty and the viscosity was fairly nice to use, but I kind of forgot just how long it takes to dry - oil paint timescales. I’ll leave it a few days then give it another rub down if it seems set enough, then a spray lacquer.
@Rich_G my eldest (7) skates and I’ve just set up a little cruiser board for my youngest (4), once the weathers a bit nicer. I think 5 is the best age to start young actually, but I’ll see how she gets on.

Thanks. I'll give it a try, now my acrylics are still liquid. :-)

So, I was checking to see if the paint was dry this morning. It wasn’t. Then I dropped the board on the floor (painted side down) and wrecked it! It was still wet enough to just wipe off with a damp sponge, so who knows how long those inks take to cure!
Anyway, I re-did it with some acrylics I found in a cupboard and I like it better now.
Edit: took a better photo
