His risk is that she is apparently already wealthy from a settlement with the Epstein estate after his death so might not settle for a sum that would normally be enough to settle.
If she even wants to settle at all.

There was an argument from his lawyers that she was living in a million-dollar property in Perth, Australia, which I didn't really understand. Depending on whether it's US or Oz dollars, it's c.£500 or £750k. That's obviously not to be sneezed at, but it doesn't mean she's living the life of the ultra-rich already. I'd have thought that would be an opportunity for them - an offer in the millions would be tempting for most in that position - if, indeed, she has any inclination to settle.

I thought Epstein paid her $500k? Not exactly a life changing amount.

That was just the original secrecy settlement, the "Epstein Victims Fund" paid out $121m after he died, but there were over 100 victims paid.

Some people also say that murder is wrong irrespective of the justification.
Personally I'd say that advocating the murder of people based on the family that they were born into is verging on sociopathic.

Also the notion that because she's not totally destitute being trafficked doesn't matter, "look it didn't do her any harm, what's the big deal?".
Horrific people.

the Crown Estate earned the taxpayer nearly a quarter of a billion and the Royal Grant was £80m or so.
Lack of IHT? Priceless.
[Edit] Covered already by my fellow republicans (small fucking r).

In 20/21, the Crown Estate earned the taxpayer nearly a quarter of a billion and the Royal Grant was £80m or so.
Have I missed something, or is this an overly complex way of saying about a third of their tax is handed back to them?
-
• #69717
Kind of I guess, although I gather a large portion of the grant just goes straight into maintaining the palaces, which the Royal Family don't own.

One thing that has surprised me in recent times is the the handful of people I have met who choose to pay more tax than they have to.
I did this to boost my earnings on paper to get a mortgage

That was part of my decision too. Its all very well being billy big bollocks and saving a few grand here and there using clever accounting, but if it massively reduces your mortgagability then its not much use to you.

Surely Carrie can't be expected to have another baby, she only gave birth in December?
One rule for them, another for us. Has Mr Johnson taught you nothing?
Although the IHT exemption apparently dates to Mr Major. It wouldn't do for the wealth to be diminished over the generations.
