Or the hip hop. Every 90s rapper ever wore Carhartt. No way golf club - I am a wearer so not having it.

Collin is probably thinking of people wearing it for their weekend DIY seshes.
He's strictly Aldi and DeWalt trousers on sale from Screwfix, and has no truck with this dandywear.

Carhartt WIP is the fashion arm isn't it? Carhartt is just the workwear arm isn't it, like dickies and all that ?
I've got a lovely carhartt goretex hat.

Correct. and WIP barely exists (or at least didn't a few years ago) in the US, so 'Muricans often found it hilarious that Euro people would wear Carhartt for fashion purposes.

Whereas I find it hilarious that anyone would pay their prices for workwear, just to tidy the lawn or change a light bulb.

I like Carhartt clothes because I hate buying clothes. Buy a pair of Carhartt shorts? They'll last me ten years which means I can avoid the absolute fucking hellish experience of having to buy new shorts for a decade.

I’m really lucky cos one of my workshop neighbours is the biggest importer of used workwear(and other clothes) in the country so can get the good stuff if I need it for pennies.
Trouble is that a vast amount of it is rather generously sized as would appear the average American workman has a 46” waist...
We had a whole bale of carhartt rags last year. I really should have pulled out all the ones with logos/rivets and sold them as manly hipster hankies.

I still wear the Carhartt zipped chore coat I bought in 1990. Nearly broken it in.

My Dad wore Carhartt jacket in the 90s*. Definitely not a skater though.
{*} still going strong

No carhartt WIP is the UK workwear brand. It's cheaper than regular carhartt but still expensive. I suppose you could say it's the Rapha of workwear that and dunderdon.
My carhartt dungerees are very comfy and mean that I never show my tradesman's cleavage.

I have a Carharrt apron for wearing in the workshop, think it was pretty cheap. It was a present from the missus but I think we looked at them together at one point and it wasn’t very dear.
Fashion stuff like t shirts, hoodies etc seems to be at a totally different price point.

All this chat has made me want a brown Carharrt beanie again.

WIP is slimmer fit generally, and not as hard wearing. I remember going into a denim shop in Manhattan about 25 years ago asking if they carried Carharrt and being laughed at

Who'd have thought the forum was so full of Carharrt aficionados? You might not know this but you actually already have your own thread - Carharrt & Filson lovers unite!
I thought it was for dad's who skated in the 90s?
