Yeah I gave it a quick rub down so there was something for the paint (and then the lacquer) to adhere to. I was going to use acrylic but I got them all down from the loft and they’re all solidified! The only thing other than kids poster paint was some water based block painting ink. It’s pretty pigmenty and the viscosity was fairly nice to use, but I kind of forgot just how long it takes to dry - oil paint timescales. I’ll leave it a few days then give it another rub down if it seems set enough, then a spray lacquer.
@Rich_G my eldest (7) skates and I’ve just set up a little cruiser board for my youngest (4), once the weathers a bit nicer. I think 5 is the best age to start young actually, but I’ll see how she gets on.
First time in aaaaages that I’ve used actual paint that exists in real life!
Bought a blank deck recently and was just going to skate it as is, but I’ve got my youngest off pre-school ill today and she wanted to do some painting so I got the brushes out for me too.
