Carhartt WIP is the fashion arm isn't it? Carhartt is just the workwear arm isn't it, like dickies and all that ?

Correct. and WIP barely exists (or at least didn't a few years ago) in the US, so 'Muricans often found it hilarious that Euro people would wear Carhartt for fashion purposes.

Whereas I find it hilarious that anyone would pay their prices for workwear, just to tidy the lawn or change a light bulb.
