Finally finished the laundry/utility room in the loft. Pretty much every tradesman that worked on the build thought it was a bad use of space and thought we should have crammed 2 bedrooms and a little shower room up there instead of 1 master bedroom and nice bathroom and the laundry, or use the space for a walk in wardrobe.
With a 20 and 7 month I can't remember the last time I wasn't tripping over piles of washing downstairs, only been a week but it's so much better having that shit dumped in its own space. Was a proper bitch getting the machines up there though.
We moved the boiler in there as well to free up as much space as possible downstairs, as we opted not do the side return.
We got something similar to this to go between the washer and dryer.
Really helps when putting stuff into and out of the dryer especially for the more vertically challenged.
We had units built around ours though so not sure if it would work as you have it currently.
I was looking at one of those but the room has a step in it about 1m high so I built a plinth and set the dryer back, makes a natural shelf on the washer just about big enough for a basket.
