No difference
The difference is between "important" and "good". It's pretty much a feature rather than a bug that good politicians are rarely important and important politicians are rarely good. From a classical liberal perspective, one might say that the less important politicians are, the better it is for everybody.

Using violence to achieve your goals kinda discounts your politician status
All politicians resort to violence eventually. We must therefore judge them on the legitimacy and proportionality of the violence.

There are ways to enact political change. Enacting political change doesn’t necessarily make you a politician. Using violence to achieve your goals kinda discounts your politician status. It’s like turning up to a ping pong match with a pistol and threatening your opponent. You may have won the game but no one will call you a great ping pong player.
