“Politician” suggests what they did was legal
If you exclude criminals from the list of eligible candidates, picking the most significant politicians from any country or era becomes a pointless exercise. Hitler at least has the advantage in a generally muddy field of having been lawfully appointed as head of government as a result of his party's candidates being lawfully elected to the assembly

Probably a distinction without a difference. People who think Farage is a cunt don't like to acknowledge the import or significance of his intervention. If it makes it easier for them, Hitler was the most important German politician of the 1930s. You don't have think he was any less of a cunt to acknowledge that.
