If you feel confident you can do it safely, pop the cover off and see if there's a voltage across the switch in either position (if you only have a cheapo multimeter then be aware it's probably not really safety rated for mains but still not too likely to go pop). If you see mains voltage then you know for sure it's live and if you don't there's a good chance it isn't.
Started to open up my bedroom's chimney breast this weekend and found 3 bird skeletons which wasn't pleasant. Don't think anyone messed about when bricking up this fireplace
I have a few switches (this one pictured in my lounge) and have no idea what it does. I've identified one elsewhere as being for the bathroom's electric radiator. There's at least 2 more I don't know what they do. Any ideas?
