I put your name down for the junior race

Thanks for the pic - it looks great. I had seen an earlier iteration of your build in another post, was nice to get a reference for what the proportions of an XL frame look like. Just hoping now that the order actually goes through, not sure if it's fully confirmed wrt stock levels since their website was being pretty flakey (standard for Evans I expect).

See that Alpkit are taking orders for a new Sonder Camino with wireless shifting for £1600, that seems quite cheap, no?
https://alpkit.com/products/camino-al-rival1-axs
Quite like the blue frame
Their GRX models are slated for 2022/2023 shipping, wild.

Yeah, I think it’s finished now. Rides well.
I would get the Arkose over that Sonder, which looks like a cheaply specced frame. Welds and tube profiles look very meh.

I wonder why all the pictures show cable actuated shifting though.
Photos for illustration purposes. Please check the bike spec for detailed component listings.
Ah, so laziness is why.

Probably don't have the components yet!

Be wary of dealing with Evans tho, they gotten horrifically bad in the last couple of years with almost zero customer services.

Mega bargain, Rival AXS is the best groupset for the money

Good GRX beats SRAM wireless any day. I’m converted

That rear mech does not look healthy
-
• #22689
Rival AXS is excellent, with electronic shifting, it makes zero difference between Rival and Red, just the hood shape, material and adjustability.

Those are contis

I’ve found the rival cassette to actually shift a bit nicer. The hollow posh ones tend to make them a bit clunkier and noisier.

Are all their ranges good? The Colibra AL is only a grand which isnt too bad in this day and age of overpriced bikes.
-
• #22693
So they are; as you were.

Someone on here has a yellow condor with wtb sendero tyres. I was looking for a photo of it as I remember thinking it looked like a good setup. Anyone know where it is?

@fax_yourself maybe?

I went the sonder camino frame set route. The geometry is spot on and i run 2.1 650b and 38c 700 on mine and installed a brand x dropper. Drive train wise i went the microshift advent 10spd/GRX route (38T | 11-48) Fun bike overall..
The only QC issue i had was that the rear axle was too short so i had to replace it. -

Yeah I think so. Would be cool to see a picture of the setup. I'm wondering whether to bother with 650b on my bike this season.

Readers wife here.
Very golf club, but I have a morning bike (take son to school then go to the allotment to kiss the chickens - involves gravel and mud), an afternoon bike (to collect boy from school, belt drive fixie) and a daytime bike (Bullitt) for everything else.Anyway, my submission for gravel. Had to convert the front to disc. No amount of fettling could prevent massive judder from the original mini Vs. Even with salmons the rear brake is still just for decoration (had an ex GB Olympic mechanic try to set the Vs up after I admitted failure - even he failed to get decent braking).
I do love the frame feel and handling. It is a very footsure bike.
Sure I’m going to get flamed for something, but hey ho.

Sorry fella, I need a translation (a Google failed to explain nds). I’m an older chap and probably out of touch.
So, who's entered the lottery?

@amey I entered your name for the 200 mile race
