The London Loving Hut has been there since long before it became a Loving Hut. It used to be called Peking Palace and had a very slightly not-completely-vegan menu. (I think it was only because of some dairy desserts.) I haven't been there since it became Loving Hut, but PP was lovely.
The grandaddy of these restaurants in London was a vegan restaurant in a basement in Knightsbridge (in Egerton Gardens Mews) that sadly became an omnivorous place, but for a few years they still kept the vegan menu and made you the food if you asked for it. I think the location is now no longer a restaurant at all. The cheapo buffet places that sprang up all over London for a while were no match for it.
I had a really good Chinese takeaway that did the typical ‘British Chinese takeaway’ but with good fake meats - sweet and sour chicken, crispy chilly beef and pineapple etc. Despite my best efforts to keep them afloat, seems they have vanished… I really need a replacement! Any suggestions? I’m SW but prepared to travel for a really good one.
