THAT’S what i completely forgot about - stuffing!
Here was ours, pre-gravy. Got the wicked kitchen frozen turkey type thing.
Pigs in blankets in puds just done by chopping up Richmond sausages/bacon :)

As mentioned before, I always enjoy these 'going vegan' stories:

Anyone wear any of the waterproof boots from Will’s Vegan Shoes? I would be interested to know how they are, I know fit is very individual but are they nicely waterproof? Any issues with durability? I’d mainly wear them on muddy bridleways/fields/forest tracks, so good mud grip would be nice.

After failing to get the ingredients I needed to make a seitan roast I bought a co op GRO turkey joint type thing. Was really good and would get again. Only £3.70 too. I kinda wish they sold some of these things all year round as it’s a great option for a roast.

I've not used those but I've got a pair of the very catchily named "Inov8 Roclite g345" and use them for very similar purposes to what you're describing and they're great. Lightweight, vegan and really waterproof.

Interesting, I’ll take a look at Inov8 as well then cheers.

The thing I was looking forward to most on Christmas Eve morning with a hangover was boxing Day leftover curry. Unfortunately we've all been ill with something so there's been plenty of leftovers but no real want to finish them. Finally could be arsed to curry, no leftovers but did use up the sprout top leaves, pretty banging despite being mild AF.

Wait a minute. What is this leftover curry thing? Never heard of it and what do you do? (Honest question, I’m not British, but the idea is brilliant)

Whack all the Christmas dinner leftovers into a curry.

I've only had them since summer this year so can't comment on their longevity but they're well reviewed so hoping they'll last!

Can second inov8. I got a pair of hand me downs from a friend who fell runs in Scotland and they're still going, so I think they're lasting pretty well! Lightweight and comfy, good grip. I'm not sure, but I think Merrell possibly do some vegan shoes too? My other half has had a pair of Merrells for about 20 years and only had to replace them because the sole had worn down, they're otherwise still good!

@mrs_socks @ltc how do inov8 sizes work out for you? Same as normal or go up a size? Thanks.

• #9268
I just went for what I normally wear and they fit well!

I haven't tried Roclite, but have had Inov8 trainers (currently got Mudclaw) and they've been excellent.
Have used Merrell Moab boots for a long time - can usually get a couple of years out of them, though my last pair fell apart after a year. Superglued them and gave them to a local homeless guy who got another year out of them.
N.B. don't think the whole Merrell range is vegan, so dyor.

Good spot. Homemade sausage rolls though. My wife decided seeing as we already had them in the freezer why work harder when we could work smarter. They got a Christmas re-brand as individual wellingtons. Haha.

Pret seemed to have binned all their vegan sandwich options in their Birmingham branches, have they done the same elsewhere, or is it just Birmingham?

I had a really good Chinese takeaway that did the typical ‘British Chinese takeaway’ but with good fake meats - sweet and sour chicken, crispy chilly beef and pineapple etc. Despite my best efforts to keep them afloat, seems they have vanished… I really need a replacement! Any suggestions? I’m SW but prepared to travel for a really good one.

Loving Hut - haven't been to the London location but I went to the one in Norwich.

The London Loving Hut has been there since long before it became a Loving Hut. It used to be called Peking Palace and had a very slightly not-completely-vegan menu. (I think it was only because of some dairy desserts.) I haven't been there since it became Loving Hut, but PP was lovely.
The grandaddy of these restaurants in London was a vegan restaurant in a basement in Knightsbridge (in Egerton Gardens Mews) that sadly became an omnivorous place, but for a few years they still kept the vegan menu and made you the food if you asked for it. I think the location is now no longer a restaurant at all. The cheapo buffet places that sprang up all over London for a while were no match for it.
