BMC TimeMachine TM02

  • I'm selling my BMC TimeMachine TM02 as I'd like to generate some funds for a new TT bike project.

    2015 model (I think) medium-short

Mix 105/Ultegra 10 speed groupset. 53/39 (165), 11-28. Fully serviced in September, with new 105 10sp cassette, new KMC chain, and new cables throughout (total cost over £250).

Mavic Cosmic SL wheels (carbon fairing/alloy rim), with full disc cover on rear wheel. The cover is attached with zipties and can be removed in 5 minutes flat if you don’t want/need it.

Zipp Vulka carbon base bars and extensions.

Vittoria Corsa 25mm clincher tyres, plenty of life left.

Has been ridden regularly over its life, and has some cosmetic marks in places (please see pics), but remains very fast and would be an ideal first TT or tri bike.

I'm really not sure how to price this. In full disclosure, I picked it up for £800 in 2020 but it needed quite a lot of work, and I reckon I've spent best part of £500 on it over 18-ish months (new headset bearings, new 105 chainset, new tyres, and parts listed earlier) so I'm going to say £1000, but I'd prefer a hassle free sale on here rather than eBay, so do feel to make (sensible) offers.

Collection from HP3. Within easy walking distance of Hemel station, too. I might be able to meet a buyer with about an hour's drive, as well.

  • Any idea of ideal height range?

  • A search around various geometry charts says 172-180.

I'm 178 with short legs (80cm inseam), and long torso, and I'm close to the minimum saddle height (though I also run my saddle a touch low because of a hamstring issue). Ideally I'd want the aerobars a touch longer.

In other words, I think if you've got slightly more 'average' proportions than me the size guide recommendations seem sensible.

The pic gives an idea of the fit for me

  • Ahh I’m more like 165, the stack and reach is pretty close to my road bike I think, but know one isn’t immediately transferable

  • I think a lot would depend on your inseam tbh. It's a slightly short fit but it is quite high at the seatpost.

  • More generally, moving this to eBay this evening. Open to sensible offers before then.
