Do you know what the largest size tyre you can get on a 595 is?
-

Hey. I currently have 25mm clincher GP5000s. Definitely room for a bit wider. I’m out and about at the mo but can measure with calipers when home and send you deets

Ah thank you and no stress, was just looking over the parts bin and thinking I’d quite like another Look at some point in 2022 and was hoping I could get 28c on a 585/595… anyone got a 56cm carbon look frame for sale?

I have 28’s on my 586.

The safe maximum is 25. Obviously that means 28 will physically fit, but rocks small enough to be carried by the tyre will hit the frame at the choke points. They are 15 year old designs, from a time when the presumption was that every road race bike would use 22/23mm tubs

I have a 585 with 25s. It rides great with 25s, and I've scraped up the inside of the fork enough from debris from 25s... I personally wouldn't put 28s in the front although they would fit.

Hello there,
I don't know if you got news for this bike, but one sure thing is that it's definitely not a Look and not a KG176. It's most likely to be French, handbuilt, maybe by Salmon, maybe by Geliano, maybe by Hanart (that would be my guess so far, although its seatpost would be strange). I'd add that its original fork is missing and that it could also have been originally designed for 650 front wheels. Better pictures could help, including to have a better perception of the chrome (if it is). -

Nice! Needs some drops ideally ;-)
What are you doing with the wheels?
-
• #2939
Thanks!
Well, the final build will have a new cockpit with a straight stem (i dont dig the ergo on rather modern bikes) and LOOK carbon drops. But cash and timewise this will most likely not happen before summer :-(
Re wheels i am after my dream wheelset which, imho, is the best fitting wheelset for this frame: corima s-track
Fingers crossed that the deal will happen XOXO
And i think for next winter, few drivetrain details will be adjusted

corima s-track
Yes! I was hoping you'd say that. Can't wait to see the end result

Does anyone know what the max tyre clearance is for a look kg241 ?
-
• #2942
Depends on rim and tyre choice but I seem to recall 25mm continental tyres on Neutron rims being fairly tight
-
• #2943
I've got GP4000Sii 25mm on mine, think the rims are 17mm internal. The contis come up big (more like a 28) but they're fine clearance wise.
Just found some photos, wouldn't go any bigger

Beautiful bike and build!
Behind the back of the Marksman?

Yeah, creep ;)

What rims are those? Looks like a super clean build!
This looks like how I want mine to look like!

They're Reynolds something, 35mm deep I think. From Planet X originally, rebadged.
I can't take any credit for the build, it's almost a direct copy of Roboto's beaut from a few years ago.

Spotted a great Look TVT early carbon bike locked up in Stokey.
Being used as a town beater. Full Campagnolo C Record as well! Bit of a waste.
