  • I have a CCAD 7 which is nicely stiff but I wouldn't say it's jarring. Maybe over very rough ground it's harsher than my steel Colnago but really tire width and pressure make way more difference. My aluminium Langster with 28s is much more forgiving than the Colnago with 25s.

  • In my experience yes. older caad frames are stiff. Recent ones such as caad 12 were a more compliant take on aluminium, but that meant thin tubes.
But as said just above, this can be helped. I kitted my old caad with carbon kit throughout and wide carbon rims, it transformed the feeling.

  • Thanks both for info. I'd probably be running 23s

  • Readers synapse with 35s

  • I sold my favorite bike of all time because it was too harsh (Caad3)

Had a Caad 5 and 7 since and they're both much more compliant.

  • Interesting, was actually thinking about a CAAD 3, IM COMING FROM Columbus SL, so guessing the difference would be pretty substantial. Think I might just go for Rey olds 853. Cheers

  • The comfort of the previous-series SuperSix (Evo HM) was a revelation when I first rode it, and continues to impress after 5 years' ownership. There must be a few for sale at reasonable money now?

  • There are a few for sale but nothing in a great colourway or good condition. The dropouts also wear in that vintage on supersix and you often see tyre wear marks in the inside on the chainstays.

  • Talking colourways, it pains be a bit that so many of the late 90's /00's Cannondale's didn't have matching forks

  • My early spring/late fall/chance of rain bike. Corsa control 28 tyres

  • Well, ice been looking for this colorway/size/condition for half a decade now, so consider yourself to be lucky, too ;-)

    Congrats

@mpe love it, looking for something similar atm

If you ever want to sell, let me know

  • Happy to report neither of those problems on mine!

  • Badass - bet it rides like a dream

  • Thanks, it's a tad agressive for comfort on longer rides(2+ hours), but other than that a nice ride.

  • No plans to sell, but good luck on your search. :)

  • Yeah no evidence of this on a 2019 Supersix after 15,000 km and none on a 2018 frame that’s had a hard life. Both of those issues could happen but they sound like user error rather than design flaw to me.

One of the best framesets out there IMO.

  • Does anyone know if the alu Synapse also clears a 35mm?

  • Yes agree, user error is the factor.

I almost pulled the trigger on one last month that was listed as perfect until I asked for detailed photos on chainstays.

The one below in in my sights and is local at the minute. With potenza groupset but rims are dead. Bike is in excellent condition. Not 100% sold on colourway.

  • Ah, so that’s an earlier generation, 2013-2015. Those had tight tyre clearance, which could lead to tyre rub on chainstays as everyone tries to run 26/28s. I was referring to 16-19 gen.

  • I’d love a Super six last of the previous gen, although I think rim brake reality would burst that bubble fairly quickly.

  • Need a 60? I’ll be selling one soon.

  • I would require a 60.
    Got a pic?

  • There are fewer than five marks on it. PM if you’re interested.

  • Very nice. I’ll drop you a message. With the above caveat of course.

  • First photos are of recent drop out repair that a customer wanted done. I wasn't that set on it but customer was happy and we shipped it to Altitude in the Waterford.

Second bike is the 'perfect' example I was going to buy until I saw the non drive side chainstay damage.
