  • Nice. Same year and model as mine. Mine’s been “Trigger’s broomed” tho. Only original parts are the two lumps of wood

  • I like it, but fancied trying a more traditional Tele. I bought a Callaham bridge and then realised that the US Standard bridges have a different screw pattern. So I'm looking to sell it and buy something else. If I don't get any interest then I'll end up shopping for a traditional one anyway.

  • What you originally wanted to do can be done with a Glendale bridge. They’re not cheap, but probably cheaper than the Callaham you were going to use.

I went a different way with mine - the body was drilled with 4 holes for an ashtray bridge, but I initially put a Gotoh 6-saddle modern conversion bridge on it (I can’t remember my reasoning…). I was curious about the vintage style after a while, so I swapped one on and have never wanted to go back.

  • Are we aware of Trent Guitars? I think I'm in love! Their Model One a very pleasing offset with slight Tele vibes.

If I'm not horribly mistaken - built by a family member of the BigXTop guy.

  • They remind me a bit of Brute guitars - https://www.instagram.com/p/CVIVSojM4D5/

Maybe now is the time the The Jetsons style guitars?

  • To be honest, I think I want to try a vintage-spec one: tight radius fretboard, nitro, all that. So if anyone's after a US Standard Tele let me know.

  • I hear you dude. They're great bullet proof high spec guitars but very much not a classic Tele. I made all the changes to mine to get as far as I could towards a more vintage spec.

I went with the Glendale bridge and saddles some time in the mis 00s. They do look a bit weird as the non-standard MIA bridge means that the Glendale ashtray ends up with over an inch of adjustment screw behind the saddles. I love the overall feel and vibe tho. I swear the thin stamped steel bridge and brass saddles are the heart of the tele sound.

Not much I can do about the modern radius, jumbo frets and poly finish. Tbh, I'm perfectly comfortable with a 9" radius and have no desire to go full vintage on that front. I could change the frets I suppose and might spec something a little less chonky when get round to refretting it. To be honest I love it as a proper hybrid of vintage and modern.

I've always got an eye out for Tele (or Esquire) parts that might form part of a more vintage spec partscaster. Let us know what you go for. G'luck!

  • Adrian from ACPG has done a video on his new one I think...

  • Oh these are sick, particularly like that hot pink/ cerise Model 1!

  • These are nice! Baby blue with tort pick guard chefs kiss

  • I am having an sbolutely torrid time settling on a colour for my Model One purchase - especially as he's dangling the carrot of future metallic finishes. Ahg!

  • mm thanks a bunch – I now probably need to buy one of those. The way that thing finish is working reminds me of the faded finish on my LP Special, but with the styling of my Mustang. That and the P90s makes owning something that the two into one v tempting indeed

  • I have a 7.5-9.5” radius neck on mine with 6150 frets. Despite sliding more than bending these days I really like it. I wouldn’t mind trying the lower but still wide medium jumbo size but I got stainless this time, so doubt they’ll ever wear out. Used a Gotoh 3-saddle with the set screws for doing the intonation. Works great.

  • still early days after setback with hand injury/bike collison, I have a cheap blackstar 3watt mini amp for practice which is conveniently sized for lessons on the hoof, also doesn't annoy my neighbours etc. I am going to stick with the heavily relick'd Fender Strat until i have reached a competent standard. Then I will be searching for a Epiphone Les Paul to add to my modest collection.

    #update..
i have got my hands on a Vox mini5 and looking forward to having some fun circa 5watts.

  • Finished the Klon Klone - if it’s anything close to the real deal I see what the fuss is about!
Sounds incredible through my little Spark.

  • I have ordered mine! Mr Trent is very helpful on email - as I couldn't see my desired colour he's agreed to have a go at a metallic dark green. So his thin skin normal green finish with a nitro sparkle over the top. Phwoar!

  • Oh this sounds like it will be a great colour!!!

Reminds me of this gorgeous Jaguar I keep creeping on on Instagram...

  • One of Jeds? I've really want to get onto mine. Unfortunately, making the pedal has escalated into making a pedal board first, so I'm currently waiting on tolex and corners for that :)

  • Yep, worked first time too!
Build instructions are decent to a point but the final wire-up needs some interpretation.

  • Let's have a listen then?

  • Woof! Aye, hopefully like that but a touch darker.

Was an agonizing decision - was set on his TV Yellow style colour but couldn't get on board with that colour with a guitar with a whammy on.

  • I’ve just found an old bass guitar of mine at my mums that has been kicking around unloved for years . It’s a Shergold left hooker that was restrung for right . It’s prob a resto project . But I’m never gonna use it . What’s it worth ? I have no idea and would like it gone as it’s just getting in the way. The only picture I have at the mo is this , behind my Gretsch .

  • Sick bass! Probably somewhere between £500-1000 depending on condition, pretty vague but a quick search seems to be around that ballpark... is it a short scale one? Apparently they did them in 3 different scale lengths...

  • Really like this too. Can't justify it atm tho. What toobs does it have?
