I've been looking at the surly big dummy and big fat dummy for inspiration but a lot of design decisions have been as I have gone along.
A 29" wheel might not have been the first choice for wheel but it's allowed me to have a slightly shorter chainstays but keep the same length of cargo area. It will put the cargo slightly higher, which probably makes more difference to handling than the wheelbase but who knows.
The only bit I drew out was to see how much the rear dropout would move up by extending the chainstays. It worked out about 30mm. I wanted to get a rigid fork and found a 26" dirt jump one that had 30mm less a2c than the original suspension. This has worked out great as it has lowered the BB to a more cargo friendly height but still kept the headtube and seat tube angle.
