    In which case, you as the individual would again pay CGT, based on the appreciation in value of your home, pro rated to the proportion of land area covered*, again, irrespective of the sale price of the cabin itself.

    * Given the size of your laaaand, that might mean this works out quite nicely for you.

    Isn’t the solution then to sell the cabin separately from the rest of the property? Argue that it’s like selling a caravan or something.
