Nice - Drakes yeah?
I’ve been meaning to get these Tod’s rebuilt (probably at the cobblers nest if he’s still going)

Ta. Saw someone recommended a spot in Herne Hill a few pages back. I'm out in the boonies and working from home for the foreseeable, so it'll have to me a mail-in service for me.

I had my Red Wings chukkas resoled with Vibram wedge at a local cobblers for £65.
Very happy with the outcome - there are pics upthread somewhere.

This is pertinent to me too, can't find anyone local to us at all that look decent enough to trust. I want to get Commando soles on my William Lennon's, they are a bit redundant with stick on soles now I'm not just walking around Deptford.
https://www.theilkleyshoecompany.com/product-category/shoe-repairs/ I was going to take a punt on these people as a bit cheaper than others and seem to sell decent brands so should be trustworthy.

Yo mustardbeak! The dude in Timpsons in Tesco has got some encouraging 5 star reviews. Reckon it's worth giving him a go? The website says they send them off to the "excellence centre" (or something) if they can't fix in store.

Also, fancy a pint later?

William Lennon aren’t good year welted. Think the only way is to send them to WL. Or there is another maker in NZ that’s uses the same rare process

Thanks mate. I think I'll bite the bullet and order a pair.

The stick ons are useless, the orginals, replacement chipawas and cheap timsons have all come away at the front after a couple wears.

My mate works for them and said the repairs he'd seen were decent - I've still not used them though.

This post is more or less exclusively for @mustardbeak:
I took my Blacksmiths down this afternoon. The guy there seemed pretty good. He had the Montagna and 43o soles in stock but to make a few phone calls to confirm they could do the Wedge. He eventually confirmed they could do it by sending away to their shoe repair place. White Vibram Wedge and midsole for £73. Said they'd be ready in 10 days. I shall report back.

There's an airgun forum!?!? I've wasted 12 years of my life on a cycling forum for nothing

Anyone have experience of Jadd Desert boots? Considering a pair as my currents are on their last days
-
• #8272
I’d never heard of Jadd so thanks for that, can you get your old ones re-soled? Drakes, Hutton, Sanders would be on my desert boot/crepe sole list…

For smooth out leather Duckfeet is another option, especially if you have a wide forefoot. Really great leather and super comfy fit (for me anyway).

Resoling not an option - these are nigh dead on all counts and need replacing!
I'll have a look at the others, thanks

Did these sell through the Natural Shoe Store? Sure I recall those. I'm quite slim all round though, so they might be a big large for me - will def have a look
Slowly breaking these Crosby moc toes in, which I didn’t realise until recently featured in the latest Bond film (different colour). As an alternative to a desert boot I think they’re a nice option
