I upgraded a 2009 MacBook Pro with an SSD and maxed out the RAM which made a massive difference to the performance. I imagine it would be the same for a 2012 if you don't already have an SSD.
Thanks, I upgraded to SSD already which was a major difference indeed.
Just wondering how much difference I’d notice by just upgrading the RAM. I’m currently at 8 RAM which is the maximum according to Apple itself. Unofficially however it seems you can upgrade it to 16GB for this model.
I upgrade my SSD first, and then upgrade my RAM. I think I went from 4gb to 8gb so half as much as yours. However, it was the SSD that made the biggest difference, I didn't really notice it improve significantly more from the upgraded RAM.
