  • Almost a year ago to the day, my favourite bike broke. It broke because I had about a month prior crashed it whilst trying to ride home in the early hours after a very heavy night and put a dent in the downtube at the lug. Following the crash, I continued to use it but checked the dent daily, then one day whilst riding home there was a noise... It had cracked and I was about an hours walk from home. Cue a 4 pack and a slow and sad stroll home.
A couple days later it got stripped, the parts moved to another build and the frame put in the pile with the rest of the frames I had at the time gathering dust.

Tl;Dr - crashed my bike and the frame ended up cracking.

  • Earlier this week I took it to Winston Vaz and the following day it was repaired and ready for collection.

  • Awesome, what tubing did he use to replace it with? He works fast!!

  • So what's the plan of attack with this build? Rebuild it as a beater or bling it up for the NLTCMCMC track day in a few weeks time?

  • @MCamb 631.
@HoKe, I've just lacquered the repair and am in the process of throwing together a build out of spares and some parts specifically for it. The end goal is for it to be somewhere between beater and bling.

  • And bar spin? ;)

  • Ridden this here and there over the 4 years since starting this thread but finally pretty much finished it though I may well end up changing the bars and stem at some point in the near future as the jag need to go imo
