• It would do, especially if you're sitting down. You have at least +6db of bass on each speaker. +3db means perceived volume is twice as loud. The tweeters are way more directional than bass too so you're losing high end detail by not having the speakers at ear level.

    In this kind of setup you have to adjust the bass & treble on the amp. I know it's frowned on these days (rollseyes) but that's why amps used to have bass and treble controls. :)

  • Copy pasted a thing here that probably doesn't help but it depends on things.....

    Ratio doubling means:
    − a power level of +3 dB, or a sound intensity level of +3 dB
    − an electric voltage level of +6 dB, or a sound pressure level of +6 dB
    − a loudness level of about +10 dB
    −10 dB more SPL means 10 times increase in amplifier (electric) power.

    I was just going on my memory of the figures based on quite a bit of reading but I've not had my head in the acoustics books lately.
