  • Bit of plumbing advice needed... Noticed some water inside the vanity and have tracked it back to the base of the tap. The o-ring is basically flush to the tap, and sits just inside the taper of the hole in the basin, making a proper seal impossible.

Am I best looking for a bigger o-ring? Should I just apply a little silicone under the base of the tap to seal against the basin? Is there some magic gadget I can buy (like fix-a-tap, but for monobloc taps)?

  • I would probably try and find a large washer you can place beneath the tap base. If you can find one the same diameter as the base of the tap it shouldn't look too bad?

  • Yeah, that is another option. Assume if we call the bathroom fitters back they'd just bang some silicone under it to avoid having to disconnect everything. Feels like a bodge though.
