  • Want to add a fan to my bathroom ceiling to help with moisture management.

In the long term we'll have it ducted through a roof cowl but in the short term, any harm in venting directly into the attic? It is a large space (other houses on street have bedrooms up there no problem) and there are roof vents which makes the space breezy as is.

    Any problems with that?

Wet insulation and mouldy roof sheeting/timbers.

I found out that our ducting had separated at a joint, after noticing the roofing ply was going black. That's a ventilated roof, with soffit vents.

Sort out the exit first, then install and hookup the fan

  • ^ this really. Anywhere you have cold structural timbers you want to keep the atmosphere as dry as possible.

  • If you can vent it to outside and if you dont have a hole cored thats something I can do (I'm sure your in glasgow)
