  • By the way, excited.

  • I tried remote play on my PlayStation this weekend, didn't think it would work but actually it was pretty smooth! Good option for holidays/trips when you're going to have to take a laptop anyway!

  • Not finished off halo infinite yet but it is good. Spent the last couple of days playing it takes two with my daughter, it's a really good co-op game, we're both enjoying it, good gameplay with plenty of variation throughout, challenging in places but not too hard, funny bits and good story, longer than I was expecting as well.

  • Modern Warfare is a mess. It's so bad now that it's crashing my ps4 on a regular basis. It's painful because is basically the only game I play and they've ruined it.

  • I've heard other people complaining about that too - they must have really messed something up when they did their last minute change back to the MW engine rather than using the tweaked Vanguard one for the new Warzone map.

You not like Warzone? The new map has made it so much better!

  • Not a massive Warzone fan, could get a bit more into it if it means being able to play full games.
Wouldn't be fair to do anything but solos though, I'm working on the worst imaginable internet connection.

  • Fair enough. I do think it's got better with the map improvements; you can always reset the gunfight for another angle now whereas before the routes & angles were fixed. Still get shot in the back by campers hiding in random rooms though!

  • Now to find time to build it all.

  • Merry Christmas to you!

  • A selection of wheels from the off. Strong start :)

  • Might as well go all in.

Managed to get the base attached to the rig. Trying to fit the pedals next.

Then got to faff with positioning. Pedal plate is completely wrong right now.

  • Done.

    Fanatec CSL DD (8nm)
CSL WRC wheel & McLaren GT3 wheel
    Fanatec club sport v3 pedals
    Trak Racer TR80 (GT seat)

  • Managed to podium my second race in iracing (rookie class obvs) but feels good.

  • Do you have a YouTube channel?

  • I do not. Pretty certain you have to git gud before considering that. Also you have to like other people so…

  • Now you just need to install Assetto Corsa and get the following mods working...

    https://acstuff.ru/app/
    https://acstuff.ru/patch/
    https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/sol.24914/

    Good luck :)

  • I have AC and ACC.

    What’s good about the mod?

  • His mods?

  • Literally game changing.

Improves AC's graphics beyond ACC, which is incredible for a 2014 game. Adds a proper 24-hour day/night cycle and full weather simulation. Does take some effort to set up, but I know how much you love that PC tinkering.

    For example...

  • That does look ace. I’ll give it a read next week and see if I can be bothered.

  • Bit of a niche category for recommending a game, but one for Switch owner parents to play with their kids:

Excellent combo of puzzle solving & chaos

  • Think I’ve said it before but I’m really impressed by the Xbox Cloud Gaming. Up at my parents’ house who have full fibre and the ability to just load up a game in the browser on my MacBook and play anything so smoothly is mad. Then the fact I can jump into the game exactly where I left off on my Xbox at home and when I get back will be able to continue wherever I got to on the cloud gaming service. There can be a 5/6 minute wait on an evening to get onto whatever you’re loading, but it’s not exactly an issue to queue for a bit.

  • In anticipation of Elden Ring I bought Dark Souls 3 remastered in the sale recently, very much enjoying it.

  • In between rounds of Hell Let Loose I've gotten into DayZ again. Been playing the Livonia map on vanilla servers should anyone be interested. It's a bit of a slog getting past the first hour (as it always was) but now is a pretty good time to try. They have these christmas trees in most town centres with presents underneath containing random loot (food/drink/clothes/weapons/ammo etc.) You can cautiously find one and wait for a server reset then hoover all the presents up leaving coal/landmines for the KoS bandits who seem to be prevalent.

I've just made my way south after being fully fed/watered for the first time in about 20 spawns / 5 days (caught a load of chickens and made a campfire). The southern half of the map is basically thick forest with random old military bunkers full of high tier loot. There are also dynamic 'contaminated' areas which are fun. Plus bears/wolves etc.
