  • anfield in full voice this evening, dragged the players through that
two rip roaring draws in a row for the team, allez football

  • The Kop sucking the ball into the net?
    Jumpers for goalposts.
    Small boys in the park.

Enjoy your 2 legged Semi Final v Arsenal.

  • UEFA and CONMEBOL trying to screw FIFA over is depressing and funny at the same time.

  • Can someone explain how Luke Shaw makes it into the Guardian’s top 100 and Andy Robertson doesn’t?

  • Can someone explain how England's Luke Shaw makes it into the Guardian’s top 100 and Scotland's Andy Robertson doesn’t?

  • Virgil van Dijk must be thrilled to be within 20 places of Mason Mount.

  • Ha!

  • Everton magically found a few more injuries after their initial request to postpone was rejected. Blatantly obvious that would happen.

“While there have not been further Covid-19 cases at Everton, there has been a number of players unable to train who were originally on the 'fit list'.”

Third game in a row postponed due to the opposition deciding they don't have enough players whilst we've had one COVID case in all that time.

  • I stopped reading when I saw Fabinho was number 97...

  • whilst we've had one COVID case in all that time.

Not even COVID wants to be in Burnley. Appreciate you’ve had a bad run, but Man City got a game against us called off last year with two positive COVID cases, one of whom was their chef. We’ve had a pretty good record with COVID in our camp, this is the first game we’ve requested to call off.

  • The random way it's being done is farcical. Everyone knew Everton would magically suffer more injuries when the first request was turned down.

No idea why they're taking other injuries into account, I'm pretty sure at the end of the season when we're trying to squeeze in loads of games we won't be able to request a postponement because of injuries.

  • Am I being naive when I see stuff like this in the highlights and wonder how/why there’s rarely any intervention from the refs?

  • It was a grapple fest at every set piece.

  • nah, the referee warns them of the dire consequences of their actions and lets them know that he'll be keeping a close eye on their future conduct once near the beginning of the game and it doesn't usually happen again

  • Didn't City get a penalty for someone being grabbed in the box at a corner?

  • As @aggi says, they got a penalty for exactly this from Tielemans grappling with Dias.

  • A feature of football is it's entirely subjective ruleset.

It's so hard to decide who did what to whom that it's rarely worth the bother unless it "obviously" impedes a goal scoring chance...

cf. Delaying freekicks, holding the ball for more than 6 seconds, obstruction, handball....

  • We should have won tonight. Great game at SJP

  • What's happened to Tommy Tuchel's merciless football winning machine lately? They've gone off the boil a bit the past few weeks.

  • Brighton were great tho. Should have won.

  • butchering too many clear cut chances to score. We create so many opportunities but fail to kill off the game.

We've had quite a few injuries too.

  • Brighton were great tho. Should have won.

The perfect synopsis of a Brighton game about 80% of the time.

  • Countless injuries, covid cases and shenanigans. Kante, Mount, Lukaku, Chilwell, Kovacic, Pulisic, Werner + others all been out for periods.

  • oh, so injuries matter this season do they ?

last season there was little sympathy when half our first team were missing, including all our centre backs ?

can't you just recall a few of the 100 odd players you have out on loan ?
