As of two weeks ago, the CDC in the US had identified 8 cases of Pfizer vaccine myocarditis in children. Eight.

This needs to be quantified:
-In how many vacinations?
-How many of that population group would have had myocarditis in the similar period pre vacination.

That is off the top of my head.

Is the flu better? Keeps mutating, we need jabs every year, not too dangerous if under a certain age, but if over a certain age/have certain health conditions it is.

"long flu" (post viral syndrome) is much rarer than long covid. It does happen... perhaps I should get a flu jab too.

My point was more that vitamins can be good, but I am not sold on vitamin D to reduce the effects of a pandemic because the proof is simply not there.

If vitamin D stops people from dying from the flu instead of flu jabs...then let's be having it! It's cheap and easy to get.

FIL tested positive an hour before christmas lunch (and PCR confimed yesterday morning) after having body aches and feeling woozy on christmas eve (tested negative on eve)

none of the other 8 people here have tested positive yet despite spending most of the 24 and half the 25, been in his room and 4 others living amongst the rest of the house since then.

Can’t believe no one else got it but everyone here is triple jabbed.

Interesting contrast in testing for flights:
Here, administered tests cost us £29 per person. Reasonably efficient though.
In Iceland they were free, with a brilliant walk through service - took literally seconds, don't even sit down.
Also thorough check of paperwork / tests on arrival in Iceland vs nothing on arrival here. Asked if had paperwork by easyjet check-in, but didn't have to show it.

Sporting venues have varying requirements too.

Football we've been asked for NHS Covid Pass QR codes although none of these have been scanned/verified, it was just a visual check. Mrs GB did get asked for ID confirmation though, I wasn't (different steward)

At the Rugby a few days ago (Twickenham, 72500 attendance) under 18s didn't even have to show anything to get in. (We did lateral flows anyway, and reported MiniGBs so that she had the email/text from NHS if they asked). Again the adults had to show the Covid Pass QR Code but none were actually scanned/checked. I could be showing any vaguely similar QR code and I would have been waved in.
