Who’s seen this, released yesterday from Restrap: https://bikepacking.com/news/restrap-city-loader-front-bag-for-bromptons/
I quite like the look of it, but the mount on the bag looks like it may be very flexible vs the standard frame approach.

why is it better than this? https://www.brompton.com/catalogue/bags/borough/borough-roll-top-bag-large-in-dark-grey

I don’t think it is necessarily better than any of the current Brompton offerings. I just like that there are other options out there than having to buy from Brompton (although they are good and I have no complaints with the bags I have!)

plus it looks it cant be used with front (dynamo) light?!?

Good point! Does look a bit saggy in the pictures.
Shame really. Maybe that’s why no one else does a bag for Brompton as there’s no real reason not to choose a Brompton branded one

What's the best way to lubricate the frame hinges?
I suspected they were the source of creaking so I popped a little chain lube on them, which obviously helped initially, but now the stem hinge is quite stiff.
Am I am idiot?

So rear mudguard rattling got louder and now need a new one?
Know I mentioned this earlier but nice carbon ones, that can be gotten relatively quickly and easily, who, where from?
Or are carbon ones not worth the hassle? Thanks

Also about to build up this Dynamo front wheel, Brompton wheels don’t take smaller nipples do they? I’ve got a truckload of “normal” nipples which I was going to use.

Anyone using the Brompton Spanninga rear light ref: QVBATRLAM-SOLO?
Worth geting, or avoid? -
• #10616
It’s okay. We use Son Rear lights, infinitely brighter but no reflection

If you want one at a discount I bought it mistakenly

fortunately right by station and jumped on a train, will tackle it later in the week, any tips dealing with the gears/derailleur from seasoned pro’s? -

Take the tensioner off the chain when the bike is back wheel folded under, then it’s a peace of piss even for a first timer

P type handle bars wanted
I fancy trying the P type handle bar set up(I must have too much time on my hands)
I know they are long discontinued, but does anyone have a pair of bars for sale?

THIS!
Also, once you have the new tube in, put the wheel back in first, then inflate to full to avoid having to undo the brake.
-
• #10623
You need a stem too, also, P type is 3 crap hand positions rather than one pretty good one.

Trying to fit the Brompton seatpost insert so I get the right saddle height each time I unfold the bike. Problem I have is that once the insert has been fitted, I cannot get the seatpost back in from the bottom of the seat tube, the inner diameter of the seat tube is too narrow. I've followed the Brompton video on YouTube and can't see what the issue is, can anyone give some pointers, please?
I’ve owned both and prefer the S setup by a factor of 3 million. Makes it feel speedy when you want it to but still comfy and practical. For me the S is the do- everything bike.
