  • I like the vaporflys but found the alphaflys too narrow in the bridge.

  • Have you got a link for this? Can't see them.

  • Thanks. Davey is right, they are pretty hard on the eye.

Can anyone recommend them? I'm overdue a new pair just for general use.

  • Following days and days of terrible pollution, Christmas weekend looks to be relatively clean albeit extremely cold. I'm genuinely excited to go for a little festive run (before my TWO xmas dinners).

  • Saucony Endorphin shift are so superior to Hoka Clifton. Ran 16k in the former one day last week, and was fresh as a daisy the day after. Ran 12.5k in Hokas yesterday and I am now stiff as a board.

  • Moved house earlier this week, have hardly run this month due to other life stuff then the move. Away at in laws for a few days over Xmas so pack my running kit. Forgot my shoes. FML.

Don't even know where they are apart from "in a box" 😭

  • Garmin are having a sale on some watches.

I've bought myself one of these ugly ones

    https://www.garmin.com/en-GB/p/716891/pn/010-02293-04

Edit: I paid £108 for it, the price has rocketed now. Hope I still get it

  • That'll be useful when you parachute into xc season.

  • Especially when I do it with my night vision goggles on

  • Running prams

    Anyone used one with success?

  • Mountain Buggy are very good indeed. Works well on most surfaces, even hilly offroad.

Less good, but still easy enough (on the flat, t least) we had the running chassis addon for the the Bugaboo Bee Plus. Pricey, but we sold it for £20 less than we bought it for 5 years on.

  • Out n About. Relatively cheap on Amazon I think. Lots of friends and family got them too. I ran 100s of miles with ours and used as a robust off road pushchair

  • Bob Ironman Duallie. Parkrun PB only 45 seconds slower than my own PB(!)

  • Seems to be discontinued sadly

@Tallboy this is an early winner due to price currently. EBay notification set.

  • Yeah I got mine second hand. Drove from east London to near corfe castle one morning at 5am, ran 12 miles up and down the cliffs to Durdle Door and back.
I picked up the pushchair, had a pint overlooking the castle and drove back, in time for tea. Best day (post kids) ever

  • There’s one on eBay but it certainly has been used.

Also that day sounds impeccable if accompanied with some hearty Mac n Cheese in said pub.

  • Yes but for me they only become nice to run in fast…

I can do a standard Sunday run at 8 min miles in vaporflys, but alphas feel clumpy at that speed but marathon/half marathon/10k pace and they are super comfy…

Now have 3 pairs of them but given I’ve spent running mostly between 8 and 9 minute miles I’ve not looked at them…

  • Mine was the best £100(ish?) I had spent on kid / father related activities at the time.

Whatever you get, it'll be worth its weight in gold.

For me, it meant I could keep training for marathons, and mumma could relax with our firstborn

  • Impressive...

  • 3 hours for 50km... blimey. I did 50km yesterday and it took me most of the bloody day (I did have some meetings etc to fit in too).

  • Can I ask how they fit? I've 10.5 Hoka Clifton's... Thanks in advance.

  • I’m 15km off my target for 2021 and yesterday I went to the gym with my stepson and beasted my legs doing squats.. do I assume that the DOMS is likely to be worse tomorrow and try to get the 15 done today.. or vice versa?

  • They fit true to size (e.g. I normally take a UK 10.5 and they are 10.5). For Hoka’s I sized up half a size after finding the 10.5 too small.

I have quite a wide foot, and find they fit fine with that. The arch support is also better than the Hokas.
