Freecycle Garmin 500 for spares/repair

Posted on
  • Garmin 500 in the classic silver/black colourway, fully functional BUT missing one bayonet lug so it will fall off if you actually ride your bike and the USB port is dodgy due to corrosion, so it needs a new back cover which you can get off of Aliex etc.
£5 p&p saves it from landfill

  • cool i'll take pm

  • I have a defunct Garmin you could blend with this one to make a good one @billa I also bought a littel service kit which I couldn't get to work (the nuts are done up real tight)

  • @tmevans I was just going to have this in my bag whilst working, but maybe worth blending the two as a backup to my 520. What would you want for the defunct one??

  • um, it is free unless you have anything you could swap. I'm after some merino leg warmers and some toe covers at the moment, or, less likely, some endura pro sl long shirts in medium or a vgc back ortleib or similar bag for my wife. are you in london? the other thing you could do is help me set up/fix my 'new' garmin. anyway, i am in se5, pick up preferred or I could post.

  • Bit of a dredge @tmevans but what kit do you use to try and fix your garmin? I need to change my Edge 200 battery and have been looking at https://newpower99.com/products/garmin-edge-200-battery-replacement-kit Was it that one?

  • wasn’t anything like as fancy as that but i can’t see why it didn’t work ; the little torx driver mated to the bolts but they were too stiff to turn. but i also didn’t really have much time to get into it

  • Ok thanks.
