Just got another visit from the Gendarme to check that we were still at our location and we had a negative test.
They tried to tell us off that the kids were still under quarantine because they didn’t do lateral flow results (no requirement in the French rules for children under a certain age). Apparently local prefecture rules can be different and it is up to us to check in advance. Complete bullshit.
My wife flew off the rails when they told us that we should have called them with the negative result so that they could verify and ‘release’ us. We weren’t even given a contact, or station that they were from when they visited the first time. And the rules state that you are free to come out or isolation after day 2 when you test negative.
Wife shouting down 2 police on Christmas Eve was a sight to behold.
Outcome is fortunately not Christmas in a cell, but we and the children are ‘exceptionally’ allowed to move freely. Subject to the prefecture not having any further issues….
