  • I've been lucky enough to get some film viewing time in over the last week, and have watched:
Elf - stupid, family friendly Xmas saccharin, enjoyable enough with a couple of laughs
The Fifth Element - I love this film and won't hear a bad word about it
Collateral - it's not Heat, but it's very fucking good
No Time to Die - just a massive product placement topped with the worst Bond and not enough action

  • The Fifth Element is one of my all time favourites. I have such fond (and strong) memories or watching it far too young with my dad and younger brother when my mum wasn't around to supervise us.

  • Do like Collateral - Cruise is great as a baddie, should have done more IMHO. He is great as an odious 'pick up artist'/motivational speaker in Magnolia, too.

  • No Time to Die - just a massive product placement topped with the worst Bond and not enough action

Yeah, it was fucking awful. Don't actually think he's the worst Bond, but he has been in some of the worst movies. Nanobots ffs.

Also, tried to watch Gremlins for the first time since the '80s for a fun little nostalgia-fest. Sorry, but it's aged terribly.
