The mind boggles

Tidying the loft today and I have managed to reduce the two boxes of useless cables that I haven't used for 5+ years into one box. Feeling quite smug.
-
• #15579
So now you have one box of cables you don't use???
-
• #15580
It is a massive deal.
-
• #15581
Tomorrow you'll need at least one of those cables.
-
• #15582
This doesn't happen to be a third, bigger box does it?

• #15583
in that vein

I'm not sure it should be possible even? That or it's really simple.
Not exactly simple; you have to be building something with a minimal amount of complexity. But if you are, there's a significant chance of creating something that's accidentally Turing Complete. Much of the time, the fact that something is unintentionally Turing Complete is a minor matter of nerd interest because there's no way to do anything useful with it - who's going to exploit Magic: The Gathering's computational potential? Sometimes, though, it creates a major security flaw.

Did you see the JBIG2 thing last week? It was quite awesome: https://googleprojectzero.blogspot.com/2021/12/a-deep-dive-into-nso-zero-click.html

That PowerPoint one is funny. Tbh it is all well over my head beyond that.

That is absolutely staggering.

Those RS232 ones are dead in the water to be truthful.

Win for the pilot. The plane, not so much.

Epic win for me and my wife. We walked the Wandle Trail yesterday from West Croydon upwards, and going into Beddington Park we saw a Kingfisher. Then about a mile later, another. I had no idea they were in south London. I’ve only ever seen one before, and that was last year in the South Downs. Quite made our day, it did.

Probably how he got the plane in the first place.

I saw a kingfisher in Russia Dock Woods (Rotherhithe) this morning, and also managed to catch sight of one of the woodpeckers we often hear. Both were firsts and made my day.
Also saw a pair of jays on Hampstead Heath at the weekend - occasionally see them, but rarer to see a pair.

A Kingfisher 'hunts' a small stretch of river that I regularly kayak. I see it most times I paddle down that stretch. I would love to photograph it but it flies at about 100 mph!!

I saw a pair of kingfishers on the river Itchen just north of Southampton. It was a very brief glimpse which I would have missed completely if it wasn’t for the sun lighting up the vivid plumage on their backs. Startling and unforgettable.

Not sure on who the guy is, but personally welcome anyone swinging a hammer at Eric Gill's legacy https://twitter.com/katierazz/status/1481307310534402049
I think he's still at it? https://twitter.com/NeilJettel2/status/1481334133368377344
Surely it would be a lot simpler to build a Turing Machine out of redstone?
