We got our pup about 18 months ago, when child #1 was 3.5, and have since introduced child #2 who is now 7 months.
Pup is definitely more protective of the small one, tries to groom her etc.
Biggest adjustment for me has just been needing to be available for 2 or 3 walks a day, every day, whatever the weather.

Congratulations! We have two pet humans, aged 3 and 6, and a really want a dog. Reading this thread regularly makes me wonder if we’re ready for the commitment. Let us know how it goes.
