  • Metod cabinets are cheap enough, you can often find some worktops (and base units) in their returns section for not much too.

  • I wouldn't bother with the metod units as a temporary solution. They're supported at the back by a rail fixed to the wall. As a DIY effort in an old building (wall not flat and not perpendicular to the floor) I found it a pain. I solved it but you'd likely find it easier with an alternative that has "feet" both front and back.

  • Cheers. Good advice. I think we're now leaning towards this, or buying a new slim dishwasher (which would require cutting a few cm off the existing, gross, counter). I honestly don't know which is more wasteful.

    Any idea what those sinks (and ideally counter space) are called?
