Traveled up to Clava just outside Inverness today. We were here earlier in the year and read about how it lines up with midwinter sunset so thought it’d be fun to try and see it.
Further research suggested it has been cloudy for about the last 20 midwinters so we didn’t hold out much hope, especially since it was pretty overcast in Glasgow this morning but just north of Aviemore it really cleared up and the sun was splitting the trees for our arrival at Clava.
Spoke to a guy that’s been going for ten years and never seen it.
Fuck knows how they aligned these things, it’s not like it wasn’t ever cloudy in the Bronze Age right?!
