Many people and cultures believe in not speaking ill of the dead. Then we’re left with vomitous odes to shitty people whose greatest contribution to the world was dying and leaving it without them.

There should be a ‘don’t speak overly well of the dead’ rule too.

Being dead does not bequeath sainthood.
