• I'm not sure you can avoid catching COVID. It's now a fact of life like flu. Get vaxxed to reduce the chance of serious illness (probably unlikely due to your age). The risk assessment for the younger members of our population is whether the side effects of vaccination are less of a risk than death or serious illness from COVID.

  • I've never had a flu vaccine, I think I got flu once, it was pretty fucking shit but was at the very start of Covid, if it was Covid I got it before anyone was recorded in the country so it was flu. I wouldn't be surprised if both could be eradicated with a complete global vaccination program and some concerted effort with tracking and tracing outbreaks. Either way if it is now a "fact of life" and people under 30 are cool just smashing it about the place then it's going to be floating around and evolving whilst they become people over 30, hopefully it'll just end up super mild like a cold but the Spanish flu etc. weren't exactly early in the flu viruses history and they killed millions, it's a shit way of thinking about it and makes things worse for everyone.
