• A friend of mine who runs a few clubs in Southampton, told me that 30% of people who turned up yesterday either were not vaccinated/done a lateral flow test prior to coming.

He’d packed up LFTs so people could do them by the door. Of the 200 or so that did tests on the door, most of them had never done one before…

    Crazy.

  • How can you be so involved in this topic and still not appreciate that measures to control covid aren't about the individual?

    Don't bother answering, it's rhetorical.

  • nah there is no way you're actually this thick

  • Because not everyone is a self absorbed ignoramus.

  • If you're under 30 why would you be remotely concerned about COVID as a personal health risk?

    1) 10 to 15% of people who have Covid, even asymptomiatically, go on to develop long Covid to some degree.

    2) There are increasing concerns about organ damage caused by Covid. A variety of studies have shown that even asymptomatic Covid infections in young people can cause damage to the brain, heart and other organs. One study suggests this might be as many as 10% of all infections. Most of the damage is minor, and depending on the organ and extent can be reversible, but its still a worry.

    3) Even in under 30s, Covid can be a serious infection. Especially if you have underlying health conditions, such as diabetes, asthma and obesity.
