  • Schwable have been good but less so now it’s much wetter. Although I’d been riding 28mm slicks on the same surfaces, bridle ways, tracks and across fields.
    I think they should go on the carbon rims and wait for some Resolutes on the alu boxes.
    But old tyres on new rims grates a little haha

  • It's a question of speed. I routed onto a sloppy dirt track last weekend on the road wheels and rode it just a lot slower than I would on the gravel wheels (this was after I'd flatted on poxy Chiltern flint on the road ffs). Resolutes should be fine I just didn't hang onto them long enough to find out. I've got a 650Bx47 Venture here and another in storage actually but if you're a tart about old tyres it's not much use. Also have some Vittoria Saguros or whatever they're called here but they're 2.1 MTB tyres so you need pretty huge clearances
