It's a question of speed. I routed onto a sloppy dirt track last weekend on the road wheels and rode it just a lot slower than I would on the gravel wheels (this was after I'd flatted on poxy Chiltern flint on the road ffs). Resolutes should be fine I just didn't hang onto them long enough to find out. I've got a 650Bx47 Venture here and another in storage actually but if you're a tart about old tyres it's not much use. Also have some Vittoria Saguros or whatever they're called here but they're 2.1 MTB tyres so you need pretty huge clearances
Schwable have been good but less so now it’s much wetter. Although I’d been riding 28mm slicks on the same surfaces, bridle ways, tracks and across fields.
I think they should go on the carbon rims and wait for some Resolutes on the alu boxes.
But old tyres on new rims grates a little haha
